![]() Rob Becker is interviewed by Fox Channel 40 reporter Kye Martin during the final phase of turf installation. Rob has been overall manager for the entire project. |
![]() Chief installer, Jacques Blais confers with foreman Harley Davidson. Harley jokes that his dad could not afford to buy a Harley so he made one of his own. Happy 13th to Harley & Crystal on August 27, 2006 |
![]() PG&E has been very helpful in operating the big rigs to clean up the debris accumulated during the project. |
![]() We received a sneak preview during the course of turf installation due to a nice aerial shot. The sidelines and yardage markers and additional lettering still remain, but you get the idea. |
![]() The fine sand (left) and rubber (right) are placed one load at a time into the spreader where a layer of each is distributed evenly onto the playing field. It is then brushed into the turf and another layer of each follows. |
![]() Here you see the spreader laying down a single layer of sand. This will be brushed in followed by a layer of rubber. Approximately six layers each of sand and rubber are required for proper cushioning. |
![]() Kathy Branham sets the brush level to a precise fix in order to infuse the sand and rubber deep into the turf. This is repeated until the turf acts similar to grass. A larger grade (B) of rubber is used on the final pass. |
![]() Steve Clement, Marketing Director for George Reed, gives the playing field a last assessment before the installation crew fold their tents and move on. Steve has been a major asset in the overall project. |
![]() These hard working young men put some final touches on the letters. Our OHS field is noted for having one of the highest levels of decorative inserts and lettering in the business. |
![]() The crew from Andreetta's AG of Oakdale sets the welding arc blazing as the top rail is fixed in place in front of the main bleachers. Lower level rails will be added creating an excellent and solid barrier. |
![]() Everything is set but the goal posts and it's looking good. The logo in the center on the 50 yard line was designed by Dave Bacigalupi back in the late 90's. |
