Grading & Paving

Paving requires both exacting and rapid application of materials along with a grade rolled out to precise specifications.

Black Diamonds handsome fleet of trucks sit on the D section at the north end of the field that is about to be paved. These great rigs hauled hot asphalt in soaring temps all day long, supplying the box paver and Top Grade's large paving machine with material without a hitch.

Compaction, which is critical for proper grade, sometimes has to be refined.  Material has to be removed as well as added. In this instance some crush is on its way out!

Four inches of AB grade mix were brought in to create just the right density for proper compaction.  Here one of the rollers compacts the mix time and again for a perfect finish.

Kevin Waite (in orange) of RFC works with a crew leveling the AB material to a achieve a proper  slope for water drainage from the field into the french drain system.  The high point of the field (which runs its entire length) requires a 1 degree slope to the edges for proper run off.

Smooth as a baby's bottom.  Early morning shadows fall across an exceptionally well graded infield and track. The new turf has arrived and the playing field is ready for its new tailored green sport coat. Truly a fine job well done.
